Really? Time to experiment.

Generally the terms Technocracy and Populism are not associated. Populism in fact can often be considered the other side of the universe, with the idea that whatever is “popular” governs while technocracy is about skill and capability. I am a technocrat, I believe that an elected government can easily be a technocracy. What could ever be wrong with placing experts in government and dumping the “politicians”? First thing that comes to mind is, we might get things done.

Italy has however, begun an experiment. The time has come for Populist-Technocracy? We’ll it is about time they tried Technocracy, but it is an odd combination. This though seems like a great development for Italy, and I am sure they will see the benefits of a government run by “technicians” and “technocrats” as they say in the following article.
